We recommend RetroMAD1 for FIV cats that are symptomatic and/or CBC (Complete Blood Count; Haematology) parameters are below their respective normal ranges.

Retromad1 can be administered as follows:

1a) By Oral Route:

  • Dose: 0.30ml per kg, 30 – 45 minutes before a meal, food supplement or probiotics for optimal absorption.
  • Daily: 3 times a day with intervals not more than 12 hours apart, e.g. 7AM – 1PM – 7PM, 8AM – 5PM – 11PM. It may be a schedule that is convenient to you, however, please keep to the schedule.

1b) By Subcutaneous Injection:

  • Dose: 0.30ml per kg. Do NOT give intramuscular or intravenous injection.
  • Daily: 2 times a day. There is no need to observe any food restriction timing.

2) Duration: 90 days. You may alternate between Subcutaneous injection and Oral administration whichever is most convenient to you but if given orally, it will be 3 times per day.

After 90 days, please revisit your veterinarian for a full medical examination and complete blood count (CBC).

  • If any of the CBC parameters are still not within the normal ranges and/or symptoms have not gone into complete remission, we recommend another 90-day course of use.
  • If all CBC parameters have moved to their normal ranges and symptoms have gone into complete remission, we recommend to stop using RetroMAD1 and visit your veterinarian on a regular basis for the usual medical examination and a CBC.
  • As FIV infection is for life and the virus cannot be eliminated from the cat, if there is reappearance of symptoms or a downward trend in the CBC parameters, you may want to re-start another 90-day course of RetroMAD1.
